The Dragons-run hockey clinic hosted at Dream Sports Center this past weekend was an absolute sensation! South Carolina Buccaneers star and the Raleigh Dragons manager, Ray Matz, ran a comprehensive skills clinic for the youth hockey players of the Dream Sports Center. The considerable athleticism and teaching ability that Matz possesses as a hockey instructor is the reason the clinic was so successful. Do not pass up an opportunity to improve your game by forgetting to sign up for the next Raleigh Dragons Skills Clinic! A complete list of our upcoming clinics are noted below.
In addition to our clinics for players, a coach’s clinic was also featured this past weekend. More than twenty coaches were in attendance for the hour-long clinic. Take advantage of the upcoming coach’s and player’s clinics! Class sizes are limited, so sign up today!

A considerable turnout for the Dragons team tryout was exactly what was needed as a first step to get the 2010-2011 PIHA season in Raleigh underway. Team manager and captain, Ray Matz, ran an extensive tryout for fifteen potential Dragons players that included both returning players and new faces. In review of the tryout, Matz stated how excited he was for the upcoming season and the opportunities it holds in regards to not only hockey, but to work in the community as well. The array of players that showed considerable skill in this past weekend’s tryout will hopefully prove to be a sign of great achievement and accomplishment for the Dragons in this coming season.
The 2010-2011 final roster will be released shortly along with the season schedule.
The McBuccaneers tryouts will be August 29th, 12:00pm, Sunday for their 2010 – 2011 PRO PIHA team. Players trying out must wear a collared shirt with tie for the formal picture and our website shot. All players will be required to fill out an RHA insurance form, McBucc’s player info form and sign a liability waiver. Fees per player for tryouts are $35.00, checks made payable to SC Buccaneers hockey club. The 2010 – 2011 SC McBuccaneers will play “six” home games in Taylors, SC and six home games in Raleigh, North Carolina. Both the McBuccaneers and their “AA” affiliate Raleigh Dragons will be sharing the Pavilion in Taylors, SC and the Dream Sports Center as their home venues this year.
